Yesterday I joined my flatmates for a English Christmas dinner. We had the usual fare such as baked potatoes, carrots, cabbage, bacon, sausages, mashed potatoes & gammon. There are also cheesecake and ice cream for dessert.
Gammon? What?
For those who are unaware Gammon is from an Old Northern French word "Gambe" for hind- leg of the pig or ham.

It tasted like roasted pork (of course, it's pork) but more salty. For someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas, it was quite an experience.
